The Local edition: governed work inside QuickBooks Desktop

Zeno for QuickBooks Desktop brings the plan, review, apply, and reverse loop to a Windows workstation.

A surprising number of good bookkeeping practices still run important client work through QuickBooks Desktop. The file works. The accountant knows it. The history is there. Moving it merely to give an agent access is not a serious proposal.

So the Local edition goes to the file.

Zeno for QuickBooks Desktop runs on the same Windows workstation as QuickBooks. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex through MCP, prepares a batch against the actual company file, and renders the entries for review before it writes anything.

Local means local

There is no Zenofirm account and no dependency on a cloud service for the bookkeeping loop. Rules, knowledge, plans, runs, and synchronized read models stay in the local data directory. A practice can put that directory on its own server to share one journal across workstations.

The evaluation is the whole product

An unlicensed installation includes every workflow and a lifetime allowance of 250 transaction postings. Reads, reports, review, and reversal are never blocked. A firm should be able to try the exact safety model it is deciding whether to trust.

Paid licences are perpetual and differ in the shape of work and number of company files or workstations they cover—not in how many useful transactions a bookkeeper is permitted to process.
